How many times do we not pay enough attention to the problem of shrimp diseases and underestimate the implications. Quite frequently the loss of single shrimps is blamed on suboptimal keeping conditions or poisoning of some sort. Which might well be true in many cases, but like fish, also shrimps can suffer from diseases.

Since 2003 we have been busy examining sick shrimps. Our concern with this website is to tell about our experiences and pass on all of our acquired knowledge. Because especially with this topic we are still standing at the beginning.
Our supporters since the start of the project are Mr Pagels, a specialist for ornamental fish diseases, Mr Juergen Schmidt Ph.D., recently also Dipl-Biol Heiko Blessin and from JBL Mr Frank Mutschmann Ph.D., who never hesitated to put the odd shrimp under his microscope himself.
