THE CHALLENGE OF
ART SURVIVAL
My painting is deep-rooted in
pain, love and hope! This Has been the destiny of the world for
thousands of years!... It tries to reflect messages and not offer
them on the survival of man as individual, ethnic being, and also
as a human being. The message has been and will remain - secrecy, a
puzzle, but also a clear and in the same time captivating truth!
You have to search for it if you want to find it This is what I`ve
been doing too from the beginning to the endless end? You may try
it too? But, I, the one who may say to be their Creator, was unable
to extract from the depth of the sea all the jewels, hidden
somewhere deep in the sea-shells of most various kinds. I don`t
want it to be transparent, illustrative, and when it has focused
the figure of a transformed man in an expressive, surrealist, and
abstract expression, in a compositional-pictorial context there are
signs, symbols, metaphors, metonymic shadows of depths of human
psychology! The painting appears to come out somewhere between
dream and reality, feeding continually from those two worlds that
won?t do without each other ? it is the very universe? and the
creative substratum too is some small part of this universe. Dream,
myth, history- the present-day reality, live together in a
reversible continuity? Therefore, things come out of
the void too- chaos- ashes, a courageous and spontaneous game
feeding on the feeling of freedom and childish innocence, which is
so much wanted by many artists and painters since the birth of the
modern and postmodern art? up to this day? but never turned into a
stereotype habit? or posture? leaving one in repetition and
sterility? With this spontaneous feeling, being more of
intuition, continued wish, also colorist contrasts are shaped,
harmonic nuances, and compositional relations on the basis of an
idea which has never been uttered in full as it seems to define the
ambiguity of modern painting as its uncontestable value, in order
to have an opportunity of survival through various space and times!
perhaps till eternity! Eternity remains a wish-hope, if there
is eternity!?...
