ABOUT ANGUS

Angus Young is the youngest son of seven, born on March 31st, 1955 in Glasgow, Scotland. His family moved to Australia (near Sydney) when he was 2 years old.

In school he often had problems with his teachers like his brother Malcolm (who plays rhythm guitar with AC/DC). At age 9 he began playing on Malcolm's old guitar unless his mother buys him a cheap acoustic. Right on from the beginning Angus moved around the room when he was playing. He quit school at age 15 and began working in a factory for soft porn magazines (*lol*).

One of his first bands in which he played was called "Tantrum". His brother Malcolm was forming his own band at that time and he asked Angus if he'd like to join. The name AC/DC was Margaret's (their sister's) idea as well as Angus' school suit in which he's still performing. Angus plays a Gibson SG and often does the "Duckwalk" on stage because he was influenced by Chuck Berry in his early days.

Angus married Ellen in 1980.
