In spite of the famous railroader country where I live, I decided to choose a U.S. location for my first big MSTS project called "Badlands"! Actually, it's the Abo Canyon section. In the first stage the route will start in Belen and goes through the beautiful Abo Canyon section towards Mountainair.

Due to size and accuracy I planned for this project, it takes quite a while to complete it to 100%. About 1km  beyond the tracks is absolutely accurate created. Almost everything is based on the original! Of course, there are the well-known MSTS limitations each route builder know... But my goal always was to create a route, which will be a big adventure while the player discovers it. Of course, the tiles and lo-tiles are all terraformed with DEMEX (10m DEM's). In addition to this, I also use MOSAIC to unleash the full power of terrain creating within MSTS. Amazing tools!
It’s really worth the money in regards to what can be created with. The entire route is based on original maps and markers (USAPhotoMaps, Google Earth and GlobeXplorer). I'm not a huge fan of standard MSTS scenery objects, therefore I added several hundred new scenery objects and a few ones will follow.

From bare desert plains, rolling landscapes, endless grasslands to deeply fissured canyons and scenic spots along this section, you will find and discover almost everything what makes this route so prototypical and fascinating.

Take a seat and enjoy a beautiful trip through today's Wild West....
