Another hobby of mine is the preoccupation with succulent plants.  I am particularly interested in the Crassulaceae (Crassulaceae).

Crassulaceae are among the dicotyledonous plants (herbs, Shrubs or shrubs - amounting to a few centimeters up to several meters high trees) in about 30 genera with about 1400 species. Distribution: mainly in dry, temperate and warm sites (Africa, Mexico, the Mediterranean region) but there are also native species (Sedum and Sempervivum example). They have a water reservoir and usually fleshy leaves (leaf succulents, eg Crassula) or stem (stem succulents, eg cotyledon) without stipules. Even those with both characteristics (eg Tylecodon) are represented. Flowers are often small and inconspicuous.  Because of the variety of decorative leaf and flowering plants Crassulaceae, both as an indoor or outdoor plant, such as in the greenhouse are very popular. The species are coming from South Africa because of the historical ties of the countries in the Netherlands and England have been long known and later they came to Germany as well as.

Crassula ,  Aeonium, Adromischus, Cotyledon, Echeveria, Pachyphytum, Kalanchoe, Monanthes, Rochea and spread to the northern hemisphere Crassulaceae Sedum and Sempervivum and others belong to the family of Crassulaceae. It does not include Senecio and Othonna (both Compositae or Körbchenblütler) and the genus Euphorbia

Personally, I like particularly the species Crassula - not to be confused (with the genus Crassulaceae). This also includes some non-succulent species. Distribution: mainly in South Africa. About 300 species are known. The leaves usually are thick-fleshed and "opposite sided". A typical and in Germany very popular plant of this type is the "money tree" - erroneously called "Money-Tree" designated C. portulacea. Enclosed a list of the species Crassula: (not complete)
