::Season One Quotes::
::Wrong Place, Wrong Time::
Woody: Hey there, hi, how are ya? You guys are the medical examiners, right?
Macy: I'm Dr. Macy. This Dr. Cavanaugh.
Woody: I'm Detective Hoyt. You know what, let's just can all this detective and doctor
stuff, all right? You can just call me Woody.
Jordan: Ah, so where you from, there, Woody?
Woody: I just transferred from Kewaunee, Wisconsin. Little slow there, so I figured
I'd transfer to the big city once I got my shield. What was it that gave me
away? Was it the Wisconsin accent, there, ya know?
Jordan: No--No--Actually, it was the tie.
Jordan: (on Woody's upbeat attitude) Whatever that guy is on, I want some.
Woody: You guys are like a regular Mulder and Scully, you know? Except switched
around. You're more like Mulder (points to Jordan) and you're more like--
Macy: Thanks, Woody. I got it.
Woody: I love that show.
Woody: Last question, you like this tie?
Jordan: Mmm, no.
Woody: Okay. I'm going to go get a new one.
Woody: (interrogating suspect) How much did Ryan Wheeler pay you to tip off his hit
men?
Jordan: (in observation room) You go Woody.
::Acts of Mercy::
Jordan: Hey, Woody! How's it hangin'?
Woody: Jordan Cavanaugh. Must be my lucky day.
Woody: Jordan, you may not have guessed this, but I'm from a small town--
Jordan: --no, really?
Woody: My cologne finally got to you, didn't it?
Jordan: Is that what that is?
Jordan: (seeing Woody in Max's bar) So, you're a regular now?
Woody: Hey! This place has a certain charm.
Woody: I felt bad about leaving you with that sick lady. And I, uh, just want to
make sure that you're okay.
Jordan: You're a nice guy.
Woody: Does that mean I finish last?
Jordan: It means I'd like to buy you a drink.
::Crime & Punishment::
Jordan: Woody.
Woody: Doc. Stuck together again. Must be karma, huh?
Jordan: Either that or you keep telling dispatch to request me.
Nigel: (singsong) Jordan's got a boyfriend.
Jordan: Oh, you wanna yank on my pigtails too, Nige? 'Cause I got cheerleading
practice.
Nigel: Come on, that sweet country innocence. Those sparkling blue eyes.
Jordan: I would chew him up, and spit him out.
Nigel: Now that sounds like fun!
Jordan: (waking Woody at his office desk) Woody. Time for school.
Woody: Five more minutes, mama.
Jordan: Mama? I haven't heard that one in a while.
Woody: S-triple X-tc dot com. Gee, I was expecting something--
Jordan: Dirtier? Welcome to the new millennium Wood. White collar meets spiked
collar.
Woody: Traditionally when you invite someone over for dinner, you're supposed to do
the cooking.
Jordan: Fine. Then you come over here and write the bait to these two sickos.
Woody: Putting yourself out there to lure these guys from behind their computers. I
don't know how you talked me into this.
Jordan: Because you failed to come up with a better plan.
Jordan: I think I'm starting to rub off on you farmboy.
Jordan: Thanks for dinner. Uh, and for letting me talk you into another hare-brained
scheme.
Woody: I'm not going to put you in a situation where you are in danger.
Jordan: I can take care of myself, cowboy.
Woody: Was she always this way?
Max: Always.
Woody: Hot damn! I-I-I-I, mean, you have a very lovely daughter, Mr. Cavanaugh.
Very smart.
Jordan: There is no why. People are sick, end of story. Sweep it under the rug.
Move on.
Woody: Wouldn't it be great if you actually believed that?
::Secrets and Lies Part 1::
Woody: Jordan! Sorry to drag you out of bed.
Jordan: Who'd miss the chance to wander the halls of a mental institution in the
middle of the night?
Woody: Bad choice for a first date?
Jordan: (about Woody's robot collection) Wow, you never told me that.
Woody: You never asked. How's our D.O.A.?
Jordan: Headed for the autopsy bay.
Woody: Can I tag along?
Jordan: Only if I can hear all about Robbie.
Woody: See, this is why I don't tell you things Jordan.
Jordan: (at Woody's apartment door) Surprise.
Woody: Jordan, hi.
Jordan: I'm sorry to just drop by.
Woody: No, um, I'm glad you did.
Jordan: You ever just not want to go home?
Woody: Yeah, many times.
Jordan: I thought maybe we could get a pizza.
Woody: Is everything okay?
Jordan: --I have no claim on Woody.
Lily: Really? Because there's a rumor going around to the opposite effect.
Jordan: We're just friends, that's all.
Woody: You're in something over your head and you're scared.
Jordan: I'm fine.
Woody: I'm worried about you Jordan.
Jordan: Join the club. I've got a brochure here somewhere.
Woody: I'm sorry that I wasn't alone last night.
Jordan: Don't sweat it.
Woody: Lily and I-- we're just friends.
Jordan: It's none of my business.
Woody: It's not, huh?
Jordan: Look Woody, I gotta be somewhere.
Woody: Let me go with you.
Jordan: You don't even know what it is.
Woody: I'm willing to take that risk.
Jordan: I'm not. You gotta let me go.
::Secrets and Lies Part II::
Jordan: (Woody is painting his thumbnail with clear polish) I would have thought pink
was more your color.
Woody: It's uh--It's not what it looks like. I broke a nail.
Jordan: Don't worry about it. Your secret's safe with me. Anyway, I didn't come here
to discuss your proclivities.
Woody: I know that look.
Jordan: What look is that?
Woody: The 'let me see if I can slam my head against this wall without feeling it look.
Haven't you been in enough trouble lately?
Jordan: Actually, I'm just getting started.
Woody: And I guess you want to drag me down with you.
Jordan: I can not tell a lie, Woody. I need a favor-- and no questions asked.
Woody: My favorite kind. And I guess you expect me to just roll over and do what
you say, is that it? Even though you know it's my ass that's going to be
handed back to me on a platter, is that what you expect?
Woody: Jordan, what's this all about?
Jordan: I can't tell you.
Woody: Can't or won't?
Jordan: Both.
Woody: I got your page, so where's the fire?
Jordan: I need the knife.
Woody: What?!
Jordan: From the Redding murders.
Woody: Why are you asking me? I don't have it.
Jordan: I know! It's in the evidence storage. I need you to sign it out for me.
Woody: Are you kidding? Jordan, this is not a game, and if you know what's good
for you, you'll--you'll drop this whole stupid thing right now.
Jordan: So, you're not going to help me out?
Woody: No, I'm not going to help you. Harcourt almost tore me a new one when he
found out I helped you get that file. I help you, I get in trouble.
Jordan: Well, too bad, because right now that's the kind of help I need.
Jordan: (screams as she turns and sees a male figure
Woody: It's me! It's me! It's me! It's me!
Jordan: How'd you get here?
Woody: I followed you. If you'd just tell me what you're doing in the first place.
What are you doing out here?
Jordan: Looking for answers.
Woody: Answers to what?
Jordan: My mother's murder.
Woody: (after he & Jordan have uncovered the Redding bodies) Okay, you were
never here Jordan. Okay? You understand me? You were never here and
you never saw any of this, okay? I'm going to take care of this Jordan.
Woody: You going someplace? You're going after him, aren't you?
Jordan: He knows who killed my mother.
Woody: He played you Jordan! Think about this! Those two murders down at the
mental hospital--my guess is he's responsible for those too. And if he's smart,
he's long gone by now. Probably out of the country.
Jordan: Then it's going to be a long trip. Now, if you'll excuse me.
Woody: Hey Jordan! I thought we were friends! I thought we were getting to know
each other.
Jordan: There's some things you can't ever know.
Woody: Hey--Hey--Hey--Hey--just talk to me about it. Please.
Jordan: I can't.
Woody: I'll help you find him.
Jordan: What?
Woody: I'll go with you. We'll do this together.
Jordan: No, that's crazy.
Woody: You don't have to ask for my help. Jordan, I'll give it to you. I can be your
friend.
Jordan: I was only 10.
Woody: What?
Jordan: It's not fair.
::Season Two Quotes::
::There's No Place Like Home::
Cop 1: Well, I guess you have a few friends after all.
Jordan: Woody, you know I can't go back with you.
Woody: Yeah, you can.
Jordan: You're never going to find him.
Woody: Yeah, and look at where it got you.
Jordan: He's here in L.A.
Woody: So, are 10 million other people. It's over Jordan, let it go. (pause) Oh, so
you know where to find him? Ah. You got a phone number? Do you have a
lead?
Jordan: None of the above.
Woody: Your father, Jordan.
Jordan: What about him?
Woody: He's being investigated for framing Redding. Internal Affairs, the D.A.'s
office, they're all gunning for him. They're talking felony charges because
of you. When was the last time you spoke to him? You don't have to be a
lunatic your whole life. Why don't you just come home? He needs you.
Actually, the truth is--I need you. I've got two tickets back to Boston. The
plane leaves at 10 tonight.
Jordan: (takes ticket without comment)
Jordan: Make sure all my stuff is here.
Woody: (takes Jordan's gun) Sorry, can't let you keep this.
Jordan: That's my gun.
Woody: Yeah. You can have it when we get back to Boston. Consider yourself in
protective custody until then. Bullets.
Jordan: Does the prisoner at least get to make a phone call?
Woody: Yes, one phone call, and I suggest you call your father.
Nigel: Is Woody there with you?
Jordan: So, that address that you were asking about?
Woody: Jordan, you looked me in the eye back there, and you promised me that we'd
be on that plane tonight.
Jordan: Yes, and I have every intention of keeping that promise. But, I just got a lead
Woody.
Woody: I have handcuffs, Jordan. I have a gun too. Don't make me use them.
Jordan: All right. Uh...Look, you know we have nine hours until that flight leaves.
How about we go check the address out. If no one's there, we'll go straight
to the airport.
Woody: Do you know how many laws we're breaking? I'm a cop 3,000 miles from
home.
Jordan: I always did prefer the low-tech approach.
Woody: The only place we're going is the airport.
Jordan: Woody, you said you'd help me.
Woody: What? No, I never said that.
Jordan: Yes, you did. The night that I left Boston, you said that you'd come with me,
and that you'd help me find him.
Woody: That's not fair, Jordan.
Jordan: Look, I've waited 22 years to find out who killed my mother. I've got an
address, 785 Gower. I'm going there. And if you're a man of your word,
you'll come with me. If not, I'll see you later.
Woody: It's 783.
Jordan: Thought I'd buy you lunch.
Woody: Lunch...Just like that?
Jordan: Yeah, you still eat, right?
Woody: I shot and killed a man 3,000 miles out of my jurisdiction, Jordan. Nine
hours--Nine hours of intense interrogation, starting with the impossible
question of what the hell was I doing out there in the first place. Yeah, it's
bad.
Jordan: I'm sorry, Woody.
Woody: You should be. (pause) You know a Dr. DuChamps down at the morgue?
Jordan: Yeah, she's new. Why?
Woody: I caught the Purgatory case. She asked for me specifically. You wanna tell
me why?
Jordan: I don't know. But I would watch my back.
Woody: He could have killed you, Jordan.
Jordan: Look, I said I was sorry.
Woody: Sorry, isn't going to cut it, okay. He could have killed you.
Jordan: I was really messed up then. But it's all behind me now. It's over...really.
It's over.
Woody: You obviously can't help yourself, you know. You're like an alcoholic, but I'm
not going to be the guy that buys you a drink and pretends that the last six
weeks of your life never happened. I'm not that guy.
