The project “Basel biotechnology corridor” was elaborated in 2001. At this time, it was just a project of a cooperation in “Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development” for the city of Saint Louis (France), Lörrach, Weil am Rhein, Grenzach-Wyhlen (Germany) and Basel (Switzerland).
