Deepest Blue

Think you know everything there is to know about Blue? Think again!
The boys are back, even buffer and ready to reveal more than ever
before...

Guys, this is the sexy issue, so what makes a girl sexy?
Simon:
Her shoes! It's the first thing I see 'cause most of the time I walk around with my head down, so I notice a nice pair of ankles!
Ant:
Ohmigod! I love ankles too!
Lee: I'm not fussed about looks 'cause I don't think sexiness is always about appearance. I think there has to be a click between two people - that's the most important thing.
Simon:
That, and nice eyes and a lovely smile.
Duncan:
I like conservative girls, and girl-next-door types are really sexy. I don't like tarts, or girls who wear mini skirts and have their boobs hanging out too. They're alright for a bit of fun, but I couldn't go out with anyone like that.

Does that mean you'd rule out glamour girls like Jodie Marsh?
Duncan:
I wouldn't go out with Jodie Marsh if you paid me!
Simon:
I'm not interested, they aren't the types of girls I go for.
Ant:
Nah, I wouldn't want to go out with a Page Three dolly.
Lee:
I would! I think it's snobby to judge a model or lapdancer - it's no different than anyone else baring half their body! And at least they're up for a laugh.

Have you always fancied the same type of girls, or have your tastes changed as you've got older?
Lee:
My taste changes every weekend! I've been going through a brunette phase recently!
Ant:
I think it changed all the time when I was single - I guess it depended on the person! But it's stayed the same over the past couple of years, of course!
Simon:
I like a girl who has high self-esteem - someone who's not afraid to say she's good looking or a good person.
Duncan:
I've always loved girls with a Mediterranean look, Italian or Spanish - but then I've still got a big thing for Britney!

Do you like girls who make the first move?
Ant: Yes! It's the 21st Century, there's nothing wrong with that. Girls who say "I don't mind" all the time do my head in!
Simon:
I love being approached! There's nothing quite like that feeling of being taken aback and not being able to say no!
Duncan:
People think I'm confident, but I'm actually very shy around girls. I'm really scared of rejection so I tend to just sit back. Lee doesn't care, he goes straight up there and is like, "Alright darlin', I well fancy ya" - but I'm not like that at all.
Lee:
Dunc's right - I do like to make the first move, but I don't mind girls offering themselves on a plate either!

How d'you like to be chatted up?
Ant: I've never wanted to be chatted up, I've only ever wanted a girl to make me laugh.
Simon: I've got a thing about keeping up eye contact during a conversation. I love girls who have such beautiful eyes that I don't wanna stop looking at them!
Lee:
Show me you're up for a laugh! I love funny girls with a bubbly personality.
Duncan:
I'll tell, you how I like to be chatted up. When we leave a gig, we may get fans slipping pieces of paper with their mobile number on into the car - but not once, have I ever called a girl who's given me her number that way. Contrary to what the papers say!

What's the strangest place you've snogged a girl?
Ant: Underneath a slide in a park whilst it was pouring down with rain. Romantic, huh?
Simon:
On a rollercoaster called The Black Hole. We were kissing all the way up, and I was like, whatever happens, even when we drop, we can't stop! It was so great!
Duncan:
My strangest place was in a toilet cubicle on a train!
Lee:
Mine was in a toilet too! And another time I was in a hotel toilet and a waiter walked in and caught me with my pants down... then he came back for a better look!

Which celeb girl's got it goin' on?
Simon:
I love Angelina Jolie. Black hair and green eyes are my weakness!

Can a relationship between two celebs work?
Ant:
Yes. You always hear about those that don't work, but just look at Harvey and Alesha, they're really good together.
Lee:
I think it's more difficult, definitely. My life means I find it hard to concentrate on a girl fully. I have to concentrate on myself and my work, so I haven't got time for domestics! And I'm a bit all over the place too - one day I may wake up and think she's great and the next day I won't think so.
Simon:
I think it can work in the beginning, but then the work and the travel pile on and you've got busy schedules to deal with too. It's difficult.
Duncan: Yeah, it's hard. I went out with Marie from A*Teens for a while but the pressure of us being in different countries was too much. Luckily, we're still friends.

And are there any celeb laydeez who fancy you?
Ant:
No one fancies me! Have you heard of anyone? In an interview the other day they asked the Cheeky Girls who they fancied from pop, and they said Simon, Duncan and Lee from Blue. Where was I?

They probably didn't want to offend your financee! But are the rest
of you getting ready to setlle down?
Simon:
I'm getting a bit lonely, but I think a relationship is about two people and I need a girlfriend who can handle my work commitments - and that's a lot to ask.
Duncan:
I've just started seeing my ex-girlfriend Anya again. It's early days, but it's really nice to come home at the end of the day and have someone to cuddle. It's not about sex, it's about having great company.
Lee: I'm not ready yet, I need to focus on myself. I haven't had time to myself for ages, 'cause I split from my long-term girlfriend Carly, and went straight out with Liz (Atomic Kitten), so I haven't had a chance to sort myself out properly. I got engaged to Liz and then realised I was doing the wrong thing. What with all the press attention and everything, there was too much s**t to deal with. And now the press seem to think I'm with a different girl every week. Like when I was stopped for dangerous driving the other week, they said I was on my way from one girl's house to another. That was complete rubbish!

Really? So what was the truth behind that story?

Lee: I'd been out with my cousin Billy. He'd had too much to drink and was sick everywhere, and he got chucked out of the club we were in, so I took him home. Then I decided to drive myself home. I know now I shouldn't have done it - I wasn't really drunk but I had been drinking, and unfortunately it turned out I was over the limit. But that stuff about me going from one girl's place to another is totally fabricated.

You all get a lot of press interest. How worried are you about
kiss 'n' tells?

Ant:
That's why I settled down so quickly! I knew Lucy understood me from the word go - and I didn't want someone who was going to start making things difficult for me.
Simon:
I can't risk any of that stuff 'cause I've got a daughter, Alana, who's six, to think about. I try to stay out of the limelight, and I'm working hard so I can spend as much time with her as I can.
Duncan:
I get more paranoid about dates now. One minute I'm having an innocent lunch, ad then I leave to find paparazzi everywhere. I look at the waiters and wonder which one of them might take a bribe. It's tough.

And d'you like to splash cash on girls?
Simon:
Yeah, I don't think a guy can go shipping without shopping for a girl first! Even now I go to the women's section first, even though I haven't got a girlfriend. I look at the shoes and the bags that
match and think about my ex-girlfriend.
Lee:
I rented a boat once and bought a hamper to take out on it. It was really nice. We had dinner on the boat and lit fireworks. I'm quite romantic actually!
Ant:
The most romantic gift I've ever bought a girl was Lucy's engagement ring. But I think the best date we've ever been on was to Pizza Express in Watford - seriously, it was lovely!
Duncan:
It's not about the amount of money though, it's the thought that goes into it. I didn't know what to buy for Tara's (Palmer-Tomkinson, who Dunc has set up a TV production company with) birthday 'cause she's got a lot of money, but I realised it was better to buy something meaningful than spend thousands of pounds.

What was the last thing you thought about when you closed your eyes last night?
Lee:
I'm in the middle of writing a film script which is kinda based on stuff from when I was younger. It's about a bunch of teenagers and I started writing it when I was at school. It's funny in places, and dark in others. I seem to think about it most evenings before I go to sleep.
Ant:
I thought about the missus. She's away for the week and I'm really missing her. I feel kinda useless without her.
Duncan:
Well, one of us has gotta think about sex and it looks like it's me! It really helps me get to sleep y'know!
Simon: I'm with you there!

Blue's sexy new single, Guilty is released on October 20. The boys'
exciting new album hits shops November 3. Hurrah!

Interview with Ant and Lucy

Congratulations! Tell us how you first met...
Antony: It was at SM:TV Live nearly two years ago. Blue were just starting out and it was Ant and Dec's last show. Robbie William's was there and I'm a big fan so I was trying to chat to him, but he was taking no notice of me. Lucy was there because her best friend worked there as a runner. She saw what was happening and just started laughing at me - like she always does.

What happened next?
Antony: Lucy asked me if I fancied Robbie. I told her I was a fan. She asked what I was doing there, so I told her I was part of a band called Blue.
Lucy:
I think he was beginning to get a bit upset. I told him I'd never heard of them!

How did things move on? Who called who?
Antony:
I'd put her number in my mobile under 'Lucy SM:TV'' just in case I forgot. She phoned a week later while we were on tour and I was really pleased. I'd told all the boys about her but I acted casual and she asked me if I wanted to meet up so I said yes.

Lucy, what did you think when Antony was playing it cool?
I just thought he was only pretending to be casual - I knew he wasn't really!

Where did you go for that first date?
Antony:
We went to Pizza Express in Watford - that's glamorous! While we were having dinner a couple of girls came up and asked for my autograph. Lucy said it felt a little weird.
Lucy:
I went to pick Antony up because he can't drive - and I did all the talking. Antony didn't get a chance to speak.
Antony: I thought she was a lot like me. People often say I'm the male version of Lucy and she's the female version of me. They've told us we make the perfect couple.

What makes you the perfect couple?
Antony:
Lucy is my rock, she's my soulmate. I've got my mates but the time I have with Lucy is special, We have nights in watching Only Fools And Horses with our cups of cocoa - it's not very rock 'n' roll!
Lucy:
We have fun, just like best friends.
Antony:
The good thing about Lucy is that she's not fake. She will always tell me the truth. She takes me for who I am and tells it as it is.

Antony, what made you realise that Lucy was the one for you?
After I met Lucy I just didn't look at any other girl. There's a perception that Blue just go out and get hold of all these girls, but I don't. When girls come up and ask for a kiss I say no because I've got a girlfriend. I'm not going to go with a girl just for the sake of it.

Did you try to keep your relationship secret?
Antony:
When people find out Lucy is my fiancée they look twice because she never tells anybody.
Lucy:
In my last job I never told anybody at first. Then we were going to the BRIT awards and I didn't have time to get a dress. Antony called up Dale Winton to see if he could help - they ended up with a personal shopper in Harrods trying on the dresses for them. Antony: A gay guy and a member of a boy band looking at dresses. Now that would make a great story!
Lucy:
They couldn't decide which dress to pick so they packed them up and took them to my workplace. Nobody knew about us so you can imagine the reaction when Dale and Antony turned up in reception!

Tell us how you got around to proposing...
Antony:
It was actually the night of the BRITs.
Lucy: I thought Antony was going to propose when we were on holiday in Barbados at Christmas but he didn't.
Antony:
I didn't have the ring ready - that's why.

How did you feel about that, Lucy?
I was really upset. Antony was drunk on his birthday last year and he told me that he was going to marry me and we were going to get engaged at Christmas. He took me out for this beautiful meal while we were on holiday, I got myself ready and put a nice dress on - then he never said anything!

It was a bit of a major thing to forget…
Antony:
I know, but on the BRITs night I had the ring ready. Blue had just won Best Pop Act so I was really happy and I thought it was the best night to do it.

Lucy, were you surprised when Antony produced the ring? I was really excited but it was the wrong size ring. I was gutted I couldn't wear it straight away. I was so pleased he'd proposed – it was the next stage for us. I could never imagine being with anybody else now.

Have you set a date for the wedding?
Lucy:
No, because we've been so involved with the engagement party. It's been so big it's almost like a wedding. We've even joked about getting a priest in and getting married today, but it'll probably be next year.

What sort of wedding do you want?
Lucy:
Part of me wants to go away and have a small wedding, but it's been so lovely getting all our friends and family together I'd like to do it all again.
Antony:
Everybody has asked us if we're going to have a traditional Greek wedding, where they pin money on you. I'd love to do that – we could get the money and run off!

There was a story you were considering getting married at Blenheim Palace…
Lucy:
I was at a premiere and a reporter asked where we were going to get married. I said we'd been looking at places and Blenheim palace was lovely – then it ended up as a story. I'd love to get married in Switzerland – there's a lovely chapel in the mountains. Antony: I want to go somewhere hot if we go away to do it. I think we might end up in this country.

Antony, Lucy has a two-year-old son called Joseph. What's it like having an instant family?
I
got two in one, really. I liked Lucy for herself and I didn't care what sort of baggage she came with. I loved Joe the minute I saw him. I love my job but I want to be happy in my personal life too. Joe helps keep us grounded – he brings us down to earth. Lucy: Joe's a lovely little boy and he's obsessed with Antony – I think he likes him more than me!

How does he get on with the rest of the band?
Lucy:
When we were in Copenhagen, Joe would go and wake the rest of the boys up – he takes Uncle Lee his pants and socks and he calls Duncan Uncle Duncle and Simon Uncle Si Si. When he sees Antony on the TV he shouts: `My dad's on the telly!'

Do you think you'll have more kids?
Antony:
Definitely. My dad is quite young – he was 24 when I was born and we're more like brothers. I want to be the same with Joe and my other kids.

There was a story saying you were already pregnant, Lucy. What's the truth behind that?
I think when I left work somebody thought it was because I was pregnant and I was going off to have a baby. We'd really like one and I think we will quite soon, but not just yet. Joseph is two-and-a- half and I think he'd like a little playmate.

You live in the same village as David and Victoria Beckham. Have you ever bumped into them?
Lucy:
My dad used to be David's headmaster, so we have met them. Antony: I was really star-struck when I met David – now their house is just down the road from us.

Say five things why is the second album better then the first!
BLUE: We don't think we could say that this album is better than the first but we wrote much more of this album ourselves. We teamed up with some new producers and worked with some friends from the past which was great. There are lots of different vibes going on. We are more experienced now and what we learnt from doing the first album we have put into the second album. We wouldn't say its better, just different. They have both been number 1 albums. Thanks to you guys.
If U Could Change One Thing In The Whole World What Would It Be ?
LEEAt a time like this I think in everyones hearts we would like to see, Peace.
Wot was it like filming u make me wanna in south africa?
SIMON: It was wicked. It was a stunning setting and there was a great vibe with all the crew, dancers and everyone who helped make it happen. We wanted to make the video on a boat so that we could have a party with all our mates, we did get a bit sea sick when we were on the boat which was quite funny. But overall, we loved it.
Lee, I have just found out I have dyslexia, did you find it hard at school having dyslexia?
LEE: It was hard in some ways with the written work because teachers just thought I was lazy and I used to get into a lot of trouble because I couldn't do the work. But in other ways I was lucky because I went to drama schools and could concentrate on the things I was good at like singing and acting. If you follow your dreams and goals, you can achieve what ever you want to. Keep going and don't let it get you down. Xxx
Hiya!! Lee, where'd u get ur necklace frm? Da silva 1 wid like a rectangle?
LEE: My mum got it for me, which makes it even more special.
Where do you guys see yourself in another 5 years time?
SIMON: 5 years time seems like a long way away. Just 2 years ago we were all doing jobs we didn't like just trying to get established in the music industry and so we just take each day as it comes and enjoy everything we do. We love what we are doing and hope it can continue. We'd all like to try other things at some point but at the moment we can't believe out luck and want it to last forever.
Is lee guna bring out 'think of the people' out as a single!
LEE: "Stand Up as People" is a record I wrote all about children affected by past and present conflicts. We are just trying to do something with it to raise money for the charity War Child. With your support when ever it comes out, together we can help those who are less fortunate then us and who need our help. Thanks. Xxxxxxx
Do any of you have girlfriends apart from Antony?
DUNCAN: Unfortunatley none of us except Ant has a girlfriend so we are all open to offers is anyone is interested!!!
IF YOU WERE TO CHANGE ANY PART OF YOUR BODY WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
DUNCAN: I don't think anyone is ever happy with every part of themselves. People never see you the way you see yourself. We're no where near perfect but we'd never change any part of the way we looked, it might change who we are.
Are you a morning person? How do you manage jet lag
SIMON: We don't really have a set morning routine if you know what we mean. Jet lag is a nightmare but we aren't complaining, we get to travel the world and meet amazing people, if it means we get a bit knackered now and again it's worth it.
IZ RIDERS GONNA B UR NEXT SINGLE?
DUNCAN: Thanks, Don't know yet. U Make Me Wanna has just come out so we are concentrating on that at the moment. Riders would make a great single performing it on the Brits was great, we'll have to see.

Do you think you will stay singers as long as Tom Jones?
SIMON: We would love to do what we love as long as possible. Tom Jones is amazing and when we sung with him at the Queen's Jubillee it was great fun.

Among all the cities you've visited, which impressed you most? Which place would you like to really go and haven't been yet?
LEE: To be given the opportunity to go to some breathtaking places is fantastic thanks to all of your support.
Who were your inspirations and how does it feel to know that you are inspirations to millions of people?
BLUE: Lee - My mum, Antony - George Michael, Simon - The Motown Sounds, Duncan - My Mother.

Its really nice to know we can touch people with our music. We couldn't have done it without you.
How does it feel knowin almost everything you do will be in the papers the next day?
DUNCAN: It comes with the territory. we are just normal lads who like having fun.
what would you do if you were a girl for the day?
SIMON: Go shopping and have our nails done and be pampered. haha!
dunk, lee always has his clothes off we've seen his body lots of times I fancy you soooooooooooooooooooooo much so plzzzzzzzzzz can i have a photo of u with your top off?
DUNCAN: I haven't got any photos with my top off. Sorry!
What Sushi flavor do you like? Lee seems love Sushi, right?
LEE: I Love Sushi, Dont know the names of all the different types but I do like it.
what would you do on your perfect day off?
BLUE: Spend time with our families and friends.
