Rob axes 'big push' in the US
Robbie Williams' hopes of conquering America lay in tatters last night after he axed a promotional tour of the States. Britain’s No1 pop star — who has triumphed in Europe, Asia and Australia — had hoped to break into the lucrative American market with a string of small gigs pencilled in for the US next year. But a source at EMI, Robbie’s record label, told me: “The cancellation of the tour may be the final nail in the coffin of those plans now. “As much as Robbie claims he isn’t interested in America, privately it does upset him.” The decision will be a huge blow to EMI bosses who spent a fortune signing Robbie in what was said to be a £80million deal last year. Robbie had already pulled gigs in the US which were due to take place last month and replaced them with European dates. The EMI source added: “There was a plan for Robbie to cross the States next year in a big push for recognition there. “The dates were down for smallish venues in the hope that, at last, we could get somewhere with the American music-buying public. “But they have been canned because of the fear that it just won’t work. “It’s no secret that we had hoped Robbie would become a massive star in America but I’m afraid it really looks like that is never going to happen now.” Last week American singer Sheryl Crowe said Robbie would never crack America because he is “too camp”.

Robbie Williams can't record a duet with his best mate JONATHAN WILKES - thanks to his EMI label.
Robbie, 29, had promised the 24-year-old stage star that he'd perform a track with him.
But EMI have put their foot down and said they wouldn't release it. A label insider said: "It wasn't thought a good selling point to have Robbie working with someone whose profile is so much lower. It wouldn't do Robbie's brand any good."
But is Wilkes' profile that low? He was a big hit wearing a basque and suspenders as Frank 'n' Furter in a West End production of the Rocky Horror Show.
And it was recently announced that he'll take over from LISA RILEY as the next presenter of TV's You've Been Framed.
He'll soon be more famous than Robbie!

Weiter: 'Ich kann mir alles kaufen, was ich will.
