Die Tür ins Reich des Rock’n’Roll steht sperrangelweit offen. Mit gerade mal 17 Jahren werden die Träume der High-School-Studentin aus dem kanadischen Napanee wahr. Sie hat mit ihrem außergewöhnlichen Talent, ihrer frischen, couragierten Art und ihrem Charme L. A. Reid, den Boss der New Yorker Plattenfirma Arista, überzeugt. Sie hat Songs geschrieben, eine Platte aufgenommen und damit weltweit die Charts und viele viele Herzen erobert.
Im ganz normalen Wahnsinn des Show-Business basieren viele solcher Erfolge üblicherweise auf dem "Reißbrettsystem". Man castet einen hübschen Teenager, engagiert für teures Geld die besten Songschreiber und Produzenten usw. - fairerweise nennen wir jetzt keine Namen. ;-)

Avril hat das nicht nötig. Avril ist schlichtweg "outstanding" - selbstbewusst lässt sie sich in keine Rolle drängen: "Ich bin so wie ich bin. Mir ist egal, was die andern denken. Ich ziehe an, was mir gefällt, ich tue das, was ich für richtig halte und ich mache die Musik, die ich will." Keine Kompromisse, alles echt, alles 100% Avril.
