Cuban superstar GLORIA ESTEFAN has announced plans to raise $100,000 (GBP52,600) for South Asia's tsunami victims during a special Florida concert next month (FEB05). The show will take place at property tycoon DONALD TRUMP's exclusive Mar-A-Lago resort in Palm Beach. Trump has allocated 100 tickets to be sold at $1,000 (GBP526) each, with proceeds going to the GLORIA ESTEFAN FOUNDATION, which will earmark the money to the relief fund. Estefan joins a host of international musicians - including ERIC CLAPTON, STING, CHRISTINA AGUILERA and SHERYL CROW - who have agreed to perform at various concerts in aid of the region's relief efforts.

GLORIA ESTEFAN extended her family during an appearance on MARTHA STEWART's chat show this morning (12OCT05), when she adopted her tenth dog. The RHYTHM IS GONNA GET YOU singer, who already has nine dogs roaming her Miami Beach property, was moved by the story of two six-week-old puppies - named KATRINA and RITA - born in the midst of the devastating hurricanes wreaking havoc across America's Gulf Coast. Stewart explains, "The mom was brought to a shelter by evacuees fleeing Hurricane Katrina, and she ended up giving birth right during Hurricane Rita." Before lifestyle guru Stewart could place the dogs' adoption information on her website, animal lover Estefan stepped forward to say she'd adopt one of them. The singer recently released a children's book called NOELLE THE BULLDOG, about one of her beloved canines.
