Gloria Estefan Takes The Stage!

Singing sensation GLORIA ESTEFAN is gearing up to kick off her first tour in eight years, which she says will also be her last. Tonight on ET, we're with the Latina diva as she dishes on the details of her exciting "Live and Re-Wrapped Summer 2004 Tour" and assures her fans that although this is her final time to hit the road, she still plans on making music!

"I'm not retiring or anything of that nature," she says. "I'm continuing to record and to write." She continues: "This is a beginning. I don't see it as any sort of end. It's time to turn a page and move on to new and exciting things."

Estefan begins her 28-date tour in Hidalgo, TX, and wraps up in her hometown of Miami on September 25. It will include a mix of the pop star's greatest hits with music from her most recent hit album Unwrapped.

The Grammy winner revealed what other projects she has on the back and front burners. "I'm working on a movie with CONNIE FRANCIS that I hope to take to the big screen and star in as Connie. And there's a book I've already started writing in my head."

She also says that once the tour ends this fall, she will be making even more time for her charity work and says she means it when she says this is indeed her last tour.

"This is not the first of my farewell tours," she says. "I'm an honest person and I know what I want and I just want the fans to know what to expect."

And Estefan says she can't thank her fans enough. "I love my fans," she says. "They have been with me from the beginning and allowed me the incredible joy of being able to express myself in every way that is a part of me."

The talented entertainer is hoping this final tour will be something for her beloved fans to remember. "We look forward to seeing the fans again and giving one more big blowout" she says. "It's always a party, but this one will be very special for me."
