Gloria Estefan unwraps her soul

MIAMI - Cuban singer and composer Gloria Estefan will launch her new album titled “Unwrapped” on September 23, after recording her last album five years ago.
The album will include four songs in Spanish and 14 in English written mainly by the singer. The producers for the new project are her husband and music mogul Emilio Estefan and Argentinean producer Sebastián Krys.
The singer will begin a promotional tour in August with presentations and press conferences that will cover the country’s main cities, such as Miami, New York and Los Angeles.
Recently, the singer was filming the video for the album’s first single “Wrapped/Hoy” in the Incan city of Machu Pichu in Peru. The song, composed for Estefan by singer/songwriter Gian Marco Zignago, makes reference to a beach and a small town that accompany the singer when her significant other is absent.
In a very special album, the singer “unwraps” her soul and we discover her personal and artistic life throughout the past 25 years of her career, from her triumphs and defeats, to her blissful and distressing moments. The album includes the songs “Te amaré,” “Mientras tanto,” “Tu fotografía,” “A little push,” “I will always need your love,” “Dangerous game,” and “Say goodbye,” among others.
Estefan recorded her new album live in four days and took much of her time to produce the songs, for this is the first time that she undertakes such responsibility. The album will also include a production in DVD format, produced by her 23-year-old son Nayib, which contains family trips and rare moments with the singer.
The singer of such hits as “Conga” and Mi tierra” returned to Peru after more than 20 years of absence. The last time Estefan performed in Peru was in 1980 with Miami Sound Machine.
