Some of the biggest names in entertainment are brining their talents to the Downtown Disney area, the new high-energy showplace of nightclubs, spectacular theatres, celebrity restaurants and shopping adventures, that’s open nearly around the clock at the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Wolfgang Puck, Dan Aykroyd and entrepreneur Richard Branson are among celebrities with exciting new ventures at the 66-acre Downtown Disney West Side, a hip new corner of the metropolis.

Downtown Disney incorporates Marketplace, Pleasure Island and West Side into a 10-block area and includes nine nighttime entertainment centers, 10 restaurants, 24 movie theatres and 51 shops and stores plus three outdoor stage performance centers.

Outdoor concerts and streets parties surround the restaurants, shops and theaters with even more excitement, dance and musical entertainment.

The new West Side features House of Blues™, Virgin™ Megastore, Wolfgang Puck® Cafe, Bongos Cuban Cafe, the AMC® Pleasure Island 24 Theatre Complex and Planet Hollywood®.

House of Blues features Mississippi Delta cuisine, live music every night and a concert facility for 2,000. Backers include Aykroyd, Jim Belushi, John Goodman and Aerosmith, making House of Blues one of the hottest tickets in town.

Richard Branson’s Virgin Megastore is a state-of-the-art music, video and book showplace with more than 300 CD listening stations, 20 video/laser stations for previewing movies, and live performances on an outdoor elevated stage.

Created by superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband/producer Emilio, Bongos Cuban Cafe offers Cuban cuisine, Latin rhythms and a tropical theme.

Superchef Wolfgang Puck’s signature dishes are featured in Wolfgang Puck Cafe, a full-serive restaurant serving wood-fired pizzas, pasta and classic Puck entrees.

Fun, funky West Side shopping includes boutiques by some of the country’s most eclectic entrepreneurs, like Celebrity Eyeworks Studio, with designer sunglasses and other eyewear; Guitar Gallery™ by George’s Music, featuring one-of-a-kind signature model guitars; Magnetron; Starabilias, with a showroom full of collectibles; Forty Thirst Street coffee, pastry and juice bar; Sosa Family Cigars; Copperfield Magic Underground – The Store; All Star Gear merchandise store; The Wildhorse™ Store; Hoypoloi, an eclectic collection of uncommon art, and Disney’s Candy Cauldron.

The exciting expansion also encompasses Downtown Disney Marketplace, which recently opened the doors of Wolfgang Puck® Express; Team Mickey’s Athletic Club, featuring elaborate spoofs of serious sports; the LEGO® Imagination Center, with an interactive LEGO playground; Ghirardelli® Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop by San Francisco’s notable sweetmaker, and a McDonald’s® restaurant themed "Ronald’s Fun House," a one-of-a-kind showcase restaurant featuring specially designed rooms and decor.

Downtown Disney Marketplace has been a Disney favorite for the past 20 years, featuring a variety of restaurants and extraordinary shopping experiences along the shores of Buena Vista Lagoon.
