A powerful performer and one of Hollywood's hottest young stars, Edward Furlong has amassed an impressive resume in a relatively short career, appearing in both mainstream and independent films.
Born in Glendale, California, Furlong had no acting ambitions until he was approached by casting agent Mali Finn, who instantly recognized his abilities. Finn suggested him for the role of 'John Connor' in the 1991 movie ''Terminator 2: Judgement Day'' opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton. For this career starting role, Furlong earned an MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Role and a Saturn Sci-Fi Award for Best Young Actor.
From there, Furlong took an unconventional route through Hollywood, working predominately in the independent film arena. His work has included starring opposite Jeff Bridges in ''American Heart'' for which he won an IFP Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actor, ''A Home of Our Own'' with Kathy Bates, ''Little Odessa,'' with Tim Roth, ''The Grass Harp,'' with Walter Matthau and Barbet Schroeder's ''Before and After,'' starring opposite Meryl Streep and Liam Neeson. Most recently, he starred opposite Edward Norton in Tony Kaye's controversial and gripping drama, ''American History X'' and the hit Fine Line comedy ''Pecker'' for John Waters.
Furlong can currently be seen in ''Detroit Rock City,'' which chronicles the adventures of four Pittsburgh teens in the late 70's who are in desperate need of Kiss concert tickets. Furlong has also been cast in the coveted role opposite William Dafoe in the powerful prison drama, ''Animal Factory,'' directed by Steve Buscemi for Franchise Pictures. Filming this summer, he will play 'Ron Decker,' a law student that has been wrongly accused of trafficking cocaine, which results in a tough prison sentence in an extremely violent prison.

| biography | On the set of A Home of Our Own, Edward met Jackie Domac who was his tutor at the time. They later started dating when Edward was 16 and Jackie, 29. They eventually broke up after about five years of dating. Jackie then sued Edward for assault and battery that she endured through their relationship. (what a bitch, i highly doubt that's true) Edward then dated Natasha Lyonne (American Pie). They met on the set of Detroit Rock City. They later broke up sometime in August of 2000.
