WESTLIFE star Shane Filan spent more than £60,000 on a Christmas present for his dad.
The millionaire singer stunned father Peter by handing over the keys to a 145mph Mercedes S.
The base price of the car is £61,000 but it can cost almost £80,000 with all the extras.
One feature is a device which allows the telephone, radio and navigation system to be operated by the voice of the driver.
Shane, 23, from Sligo, has an impressive fleet of flash cars at the home he shares with fiancee Gillian.
He bought two classic sports models - a 1961 Corvette and a 1955 Thunderbird - during the last Westlife tour of America.
A friend said: "Shane wanted to give him something really special for Christmas. His dad was overjoyed when he saw the car."

The singer wants to tie the knot on or around Christmas Eve and plans are already being made for the big day.
Shane, 23, told the mirror:"We are still looking at all the options and trying to make up our minds what to do but i like the idea of a winter wedding.
"I think because i proposed to Gillian on Christmas Day it would be a idea to get married at the same time of year.
"We are thinking of doing it as close to Christmas as possible-maybe even Christmas Eve if it works out.
"Its going to be a big family occasion with all of our best friends there too-the last thing we want is for it to become a big media frenzy."
Shane has ditched plans to get married in the summer because Westlife will be busy touring and promoting single releases.
If they get married at Christmas he will have three weeks off too enjoy the occasion and go on honeymoon.
The singer added:"I've always liked the idea of a winter wedding. I think theres something really romantic about it and so does Gillian but we havent made final decisions yet.
"We've been talking to different people about where and when to do it and hopefully we will know more in the next couple of months.
"We want everything to be perfect and i think it would be the best Christmas ever.
"Everyone is really looking forward to itand they've been talking non-stop about it since we announced it.
"Obviously mum and dad are thrilled."
The couple will live in a three-story mansion in Sligo when they tie the knot. Construction has just been finished on a similar home for Shane's family.
The house boasts seven en-suite bedrooms, a two-storey dining room and a snooker room.
"Its a really special gift for my mum and dad and entire family," he said. "Im getting a new house built for Gillian and I too."

Shanes licence to thrill
Westlifes Shane plan 007 star style wedding.
Westlifes Shane Filan will follow James Bond star Pierce Brosnans footsteps up the aisle. After a Christmas proposal, Shane has set the date for the wedding to his Fiance`Gillian walsh.
The Sligo born sweethearts will tie the knot next December - mirroring Brosnans wedding.
The ceremony will be in Ballintubber Abbey in county Mayo, before plush afters in Ashford Castle. Shane followed his brother Liams advice in choosing the castle venue. Ashford castle is one of Irelands plushest hotels, one night standard room - with out brecfeast costs at least £336.
Shanes decision means the chances of a double wedding with Nicky Byrne - who also got engaged Christmas Day are slim.
The news of each others Christmas Day proposals came as a huge surprise to Nicky and Shane.
When Shane phoned band manager Louis Walsh to tell him the news he was told he was not alone.
Nicky had waited until Christmas morning to pop the question to Taoisheach Bertie Aherns daughter Georgina.
Nicky and Georgina have being dating for 8 years – recently moved into the same millionaire development as Ronan Keating.
They have yet to disclose any date for the big day.

were delighted.
Also over the moon was band mate Kian Egan - who is first cousin to Gillian.
Kian said hes always been happy about the relationship ”I totally trust him with my cousin. If I didn’t he wouldn't be with her”

The pair who have known each other since they were 12 have been an item for three years.

The lovebirds had flown off on doctors' orders because Shane was suffering from glandular fever...and the millionaire singer popped the question on a star-lit seashore.
Shane and fellow bandmate NICKY BYRNE, who has also got engaged—to long-term girlfriend GEORGINA AHERN—gave me the inside track on their proposals.
Smitten Shane reckoned: "It was like having 50 No1 records all in one go!" While loved-up Nicky gushed: "I'm the luckiest man in the world."
Shane, who has dated Gillian for two years, said: "We had dinner at the Royal Meridian hotel where we were staying, then went for a walk on the beach.

"We were lying on some deckchairs and Gillian was saying how amazing the stars looked, so I pulled out the ring and said, ‘What do you think of this star?'
"She grabbed it off me, then I went down on one knee and said, ‘Will you marry me?' Gillian screamed, said yes and started crying, hugging and kissing me."
Nicky took a more traditional approach to his proposal to girlfriend-of-eight-years Georgina, the daughter of Irish Prime Minister BERTIE AHERN.
He said: "I took Bertie to his local, Fagans in Drumcondra, on Christmas Eve and asked for her hand—and he said yes. Then I rang his wife, Laura, and she was over the moon. Georgina was downstairs when I got up on Christmas day. I just went down on one knee and she said yes. I love her so much—she's been with me through thick and thin."
Shane said: "Two Westlife weddings next year and a tour is gonna be crazy. But the band will not be splitting up. Getting married won't change Westlife's outlook."

WESTLIFE hunks Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan gave their girlfriends a mega Christmas surprise when they both asked "Will you marry me?"

A pal told the Daily Star: "The first Shane knew about Nicky and Goergina's engagement was when he rang manager Louis Walsh to tell him his good news.

Shane has been dating buisness studies graduate Gillian for two years. She is a first cousin of band mate Kian Egan.
He said recently: "I've known her since I was 12 and we were in musicals together. She was one of my first girlfriends when we were teenagers and dated for a few weeks.
But she's really great and I'm crazy about her." Nicky and Georgina are also childhood sweethearts. Their eight anniversary as an official couple was om October 8th.
Nicky said: "I first set eyes on Georgina the first day I went to school when I was 12 or 13. I told my mother I'd seen the girl I was going to marry. She laughed at me."
Talanted soccer player Nicky, who was on Leeds United's books as a teenager, said after arranging a date, his next big hurdle was her politician father.
He said: "Her dad was Minister for Finance at the time.

RECORD chiefs are pinning their hopes on Shane Filan becoming the new
Robbie Williams when Irish lads Westlife finally call it a day.
And I can reveal that execs at their label RCA, are already preparing
for the bands break up.
They see Shane as the future megastar when the boys do strike out on
their own and are ready to throw all their resources behind him.
Since bursting on to the pop scene three-and-a-half years ago,
Westlife – Shane, Kian Egan, Bryan McFadden, Nicky Byrne and Mark
Feehily – have become once of Ireland's top pop exports.
SPLIT
Formed by Boyzone guru and Popstars; The Rivals judge Louis Walsh,
they have had 10 chart topping singles and a series of No1 albums.
The lads are setting off on a huge British tour in the New Year.
But record bosses know the five-piece will split sooner rather than
later!!!
An insider revealed "Although the boys plan to be around for a while
yet, bosses have decided Shane will be the big star. They think that
he has a great voice and is the top song-writing talent."
But a word of warning – RCA was also Take That's label back then in
the Nineties. As the band fragmented, chiefs pinned their hops on
Gary Barlow who they felt had the most talent. So much so that after
he quit, Robbie Williams was allowed to sign to a rival firm EMI.
Looking back, it was a calamitous decision.

Shane illness rocks Westlife
Westlife have been forced to re-record their latest chartbuster without heart-throb Shane Filan,I can reveal.
The Irish boy band held emergency talks last week when Shane was struck down with Glandular fever, rendering him unable to perform and leaving the band without their strongest vocalist.
The lads have already kicked off a hectic promotional campaign for their greatest hits album, Unbreakable, in a bid to scoop the top spot in the lucrative Christmas market.
But Shane's illness means the remaining members of the band have had to split his vocal duties between them-and re-record their new single "Miss you nights" for all their planned appearences on tv in the next few weeks.
An insider told me:
"It knocked them for six initially,because this is exactly what you don't need in the middle of a big push.
"They're so used to doing everything together and they suddenly lost the guy who's probably their most important member.
"But they've rallied and worked out a way of getting by without Shane for a while."
Rousing
Bigwigs at the boys' record label BMG called the other members of the band together last week to discuss promoting the album and single without Shane.
At one stage it looked like the remaining Westlifers-Mark Feehily,Kian Egan,Bryan McFadden and Nicky Byrne-were going to drop out of the campaign altogether.
But a rousing team talk from Bryan instilled new vigour in the band-and Shane's threat to sing despite his illness had the boys up in arms, reassuring him that they would manage without him.
One of the bands entourage revealed: "They've re-recorded the track "Miss you nights" for any tv performances they're not doing live and they've split Shane's vocal duties between Kian and Nicky."
Westlife are hoping the Miss you nights single-which is set to be released on January 6-will be their 12th number one hit.

Shane works in a clothes store!
The westlife star splashes his cash on a shop for his sister!
Shane from westlife has been busy spending his hard-earned money recently and in his latest venture he’s bought his sister Mairerd her very own branch of the top clothes store, Morgans!
The shop is built on the site of the Filan family’s old restaurant, The Carlton Café, in
”It was great.” Revealed a sneak source. “Shane spent more than two hours there and singed every autograph, as well as helping Mairerd out behind the counter.”
A crowd of more than 300 people greeted the westlife star and police were on hand to keep them in order.
“That was a big crowd for Sligo.” Added our insider. “The shop’s in a one-way street and it was packed out so the cars could hardly gey by!
“But there was a good atmosphere and no heavy security. Shane just got one pal from his stables to help out to make sure things didn’t get out of hand.”
Screaming
Shane arrived at the shop first to support Mairerd, along with his dad, Peter, and his girlfriend Gillian. Then his mum Mae arrived with brother Liam and his new wife Patricia, whose wedding sneak covered exclusively in September.
2There was a lot of roaring and screaming when Shane arrived,” revealed the source. “But everyone who wanted to meet him was allowed to. One girl even got him to sign her and her sister’s sick note explaining why they’d missed school to be there!”
Delighted
Oue source added Shane seemed delighted with the response to his visit. 2He was on good form. He’s enjoying his fame and his money right now and buying this shop for Mairerd is an example of that.”

Shane reveals band’s thoughts on Sligo gig
A Sligo concert will definitely happen," confirmed Westlife’s Shane Filan this week when he urged Sligo to get behind the band and make it into a "real town event".
The singer spoke for the first time on the concert last Wednesday and confirmed that talks are ongoing with Shay Mitchell of Dervish. "I was chatting to Shay Mitchell from Dervish, trying to get something that the whole town can get behind."
"We are on tour up until July next year, so the concert could take place after that. As of yet no dates or venues have been decided.
"I’d like the concert to be a real town event. The people of the town should get behind the band, and hopefully it will happen.
Shane outlined how the band’s hopes of a concert last year were dashed. He said: "Last year we were blown out on the Sligo scene, but we do want to do a concert here and whenever we can do it, we’ll be there."
"We were dying to play Markievicz Park, but we weren’t allowed for various reasons. It was a bit upsetting, as it’s something the band desperately want to do.
"We played over 30 concerts in Dublin and we want to play in Sligo, it’s up to the town to get behind us, and push us. It will happen, definitely."
Shane joined his sister Mairead last week to launch their shop Morgan on Castle Street. The star was greeted by up to 300 fans, some of which queued for up to three hours to meet him.
This clearly impressed the star. He said: "I can’t believe the amount of people that turned out today, we thought there would be around 50 people, but it is unbelievable. People have lined up across the street, and have queued for three hours. It’s great to come home to Sligo and get that reaction all the time. "This is the first thing I’ve done outside the band, so it is very exciting for me and Mairead.
"Everytime I come home, you will see me in the shop. I will be fully involved in the running of it. I want to get into things like this outside the band, and myself and Mairead thought this would be a good idea."
Inside Shane was surrounded by his family and girlfriend Gillian Walsh. Gillian a graduate from Sligo IT said: "I’ve just graduated from college and am taking time out to decide what I will do next."
She, like her boyfriend Shane is a fan of Morgan clothes. "Sligo needed something like this and I will work in the shop whenever Mairead or any of the girls need some time off," she added.
The couple posed for a photo together amidst the array of hype and excitement generated by the band’s fans.
They share a love of singing and dancing and Gillian remembers when the couple played opposite each other in the musical Grease. "Shane played Danny and I played Frenchie. I love dancing but I leave the singing to him," she said.
After talking to his fans for over two hours in the shop, Shane took time out to be with his family before flying back to London the following Thursday morning with Gillian by his side.
The band’s new single Unbreakable will be released here on Wednesday November 2 and their Greatest Hits album is due for release on Monday November 11.

Talking the News of the World Sligo girl Gillian insisted: "We want the wedding to be here in Sligo if we can get the right place. I would never sell my wedding pictures to a glossy magazine."
The mature minded 23 year old went on, "After seeing how it's done - with the bride having to walk to the church with a big sheet over her head behind big screens - I know I don't want it. I wouldn't put my family and friends through it."

WESTLIFE star Shane Filan has splashed out on two vintage sports
cars to add to his growing collection.
The Sligo singer bought the 1961 Corvette and 1955 T-bird while he
was in Hollywood recently and spent a fortune shipping them to
Ireland.
Shane, 23, said: "It's really dangerous having a credit card in the
States.
"I'm a real fan of classic cars and I managed to find the Corvette
and the T-bird.
"You can only get these sort of cars over there. I knew I was going
to spend a lot of money."
The singer, who didn't reveal how much he paid, has gained a
reputation as a big spender over the past few years.
Shane's sister drives the 1994 3-series BMW he bought when Westlife
hit the big time.
He also has a Ferrari Spider worth e289,500, a BMW Sports 330
convertible worth e64,820, a e92,770 BMW X5 and a e50,000 Mitsubishi
Pajero.

Opening day for Filan’s new store

Westlife star Shane Filan will be on his home turf on Castle Street next week to officially open the family’s new fashion store.
Plans are well underway on Castle Street to convert the premises previously known as the Carlton Cafe into Morgans, a top of the range fashion store.
Shane will perform the official opening on Wednesday October 16 at 12pm.
The store is a business partnership between Shane and his older sister Mairead Filan, who is the store licensee. They will both be present at the launch.
A spokesperson for Morgans said: “We have a chain of stores across the UK and Ireland. Above is a picture of our London store on Oxford Street. The Sligo store won’t be this big but it will give customers an idea of the Morgan store interior.”
Fans of the band are sure to flock to the premises to get a look at their idol, and the premises looks set to carry on the tradition of being a mecca for the band’s huge following.
This store is just one of the shops the Morgans chain is opening this year. It is planning a major expansion across the UK and Ireland.
The chainstore is also celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
Morgan started with their first store on London’s King’s Road in 1992. In 10 years, they have established 65 retail outlets across the UK.
The popularity of the label continues abroad, with six new flagship stores recently opened in Barcelona, Antwerp, Athens, Vancouver, Beyrouth and London’s Oxford Street.
“Winter Romance” is the title of its autumn/winter collection. Some of the trends include a suitably chic denim trousers with matching jacket, topped off with a military style fastening. Stretch jeans with criss-cross stitching, coupled with a chocolate brown jacket are just some of the items to be found in the store.
Sizes range from 8 to 16 and incorporate all the latest catwalk trends.
Meanwhile, the band picked up yet another entertainment award at the weekend’s Big Buzz WKD Awards held in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast. The bash was hosted by Keith Duffy, of Boyzone, who can be seen in Coronation Street.

Shane Filan's family business, the Carlton Cafe, is to be
transformed into a fashion store if planning permission is granted
for a whole new look.
An application was lodged with Sligo Borough Council for an interior
retail fit out and a new shop front at the premises on Castle Street.
Shane and his older sister Mairead are hoping to transform the cafe
into a top of the range clothes store.
This decision was taken after their parents, Mai and Peter, who had
been running the business for over 30 years, decided to retire.
Mairead revealed some time ago that she will be launching the new
fashion store, which will be partly funded by Shane.
The family originally lived above the cafe and all six siblings took
their turn in helping out, including Shane.
Pictures of the band's success adorned the windows of the cafe,
which was a reflection of the family's pride in Shane's achievements
with the band.
The fashion store will have a whole new shop front if it gets the go
ahead by the local authority.
Meanwhile, the band are touring Britain on a heavy promotional tour.
Their new single Unbreakable, will be released on Monday October 28.
The video to the new single was shot in Los Angeles when the band
were on tour over there. It can be seen on MTV.
It is taken from the forthcoming Greatest Hits album 'Unbreakable:
The Greatest Hits', which will be released on Monday November 11.
The album will feature all their hit singles including 10 number
one's and five new songs.
Westlife have just announced their first tour dates for their Irish
fans. As part of the Greatest Hits Unbreakable Tour in 2003, they
will be performing at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast on Tuesday June 17
and Wednesday June 18. Tickets went on sale last Saturday September
28 at 9am.
Other Irish legs have not yet been finalised.

even though he was only a guest at the family wedding.
The popstar pin-up looked ready to walk down the aisle as he played
groomsman for his brother Liam who married longtime girlfriend
Patricia Taheny at picturesque Ballintubber Abbey in Co.Mayo.
As the bride and groom emerged from the church yesterday Shane only
had eyes for one woman-his blonde girlfriend Gillian Walsh.
Shane and his girlfriend looked very much in love as Shane caressed
Gillian's hair as she fixed his best man's tie.
Dressed in a black slip dress the Sligo student stood by her
superstar boyfriend's side as autograph hunters grabbed an
oppurtunity to meet their idol.
Shane had earlier arrived at the church in his new Ferrari with his
childhood sweetheart.
Liam,who is Shane's older brother,is hoping to go into business,with
his brother in the horse showjumping industry once he retires from
Westlife.
