Self conception As CVJM Hildesheim e. V. (YMCA Hildesheim), we are strongly committed to the work with children, youths and young adults. But families and adults, too, will find a “home“ within our community. Our member circle sees itself as fellowship of believers as described in the New Testament. Since 1985, following impulses from the charismatic movement in the Protestant Church, we have been open for all the charisms that God gives to His church. In 1986, we've become a member of the Verbund, the network initiative within the AG der CVJM Deutschlands, the Association of Germany's YMCAs. This initiative is a self-help group of those YMCAs that build up fellowship life among their members. By our membership in the AG der CVJM Deutschlands, we're also a member of the YMCA Germany. Our orientation is interdenominational, and we're not linked to any denomination in particular. Our work is based upon the Paris Basis for the World Alliance of YMCAs from the year 1855: Today, membership is open for everyone. Men and women, boys and girls from all peoples, denominations and social classes constitute the YMCA's worldwide community.
